The financing includes an oversubscribed Series B led by Emergence Capital, alongside additional investment. Verda announced the funding on 22 September, describing the transaction as taking the company to unicorn status.
Investors include MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital, byFounders and Tesi, alongside angel investors.
Building across the AI infrastructure stack
Verda manages the infrastructure beneath its cloud services, from physical data centres and hardware to the platform used by AI teams. The new funding will support product development across those layers, including inference services, as the company plans to multiply its computing capacity over the following year.
The company reported an annualised revenue run rate of $165 million in July. That measure extrapolates revenue at a particular point in time; it is distinct from completed full-year revenue.
From Helsinki to international markets
Verda employs approximately 250 people representing more than 40 nationalities and has opened offices in London and San Francisco. The company says it has raised more than $450 million in total financing.
Its growth adds an AI infrastructure company to Finland’s unicorn ranks. It also illustrates a route from a Helsinki-founded business to an international operation supplying the computing infrastructure on which other technology companies build.
