Adding qubits also increases the demands on the equipment around them. Control and readout signals must reach the processor within a cryogenic environment constrained by space, cooling capacity and sensitivity to noise.
Coherence Quantum is developing technology to address those constraints, beginning with signal conditioning and progressing towards denser interfaces and more control functions inside the cryostat.
From Aalto research to an Espoo company
The company originated from Aalto University’s Quantum Computing and Devices group. Its founders are CEO Aashish Sah, CTO Suman Kundu and CPO Erkki Soininen. Aalto quantum technology professor Mikko Möttönen supports the company as a founding advisor.
Kundu helped establish Aalto’s 20-qubit Q20 computer, while Soininen previously worked in product leadership at Bluefors.
Building the next stage
The funding will support an Espoo laboratory, product prototypes, manufacturing development, further research and recruitment.
