Lifeline Ventures led the round, joined by an angel investor. The funding will support product prototypes, a cryogenic laboratory, a pilot manufacturing line and recruitment.

The company originated from research at VTT and is developing circuits based on superconducting transistors.

Reducing the complexity around quantum processors

Many quantum computing systems rely on extensive cabling between processors inside a cryostat and electronics operating at room temperature. As systems grow, those connections create challenges in space, heat management and control.

S-Transistors aims to address parts of that problem with electronics designed to operate within the cryogenic environment.

Its first planned product is a superconducting-transistor-based multiplexer: a device for switching between signal paths. It is intended to fit into existing cryogenic setups and support quantum device development and prototyping.

The longer-term ambition is a quantum motherboard integrating more of the functions needed to operate a quantum processor at very low temperatures.

The company is led by co-founder and CEO Heorhii Bohuslavskyi and co-founder and CTO Andrey Generalov. Its next stage is to turn the underlying device technology into prototypes and demonstrate their performance in practical systems.
