A portfolio that reaches beyond space
Writing for SpaceFinland, Ahonen reported that the portfolio had generated more than €70 million in revenue and had a 93% survival rate. The figures draw on the programme’s spring 2026 annual report.
The businesses cover both space technology and applications on Earth. Solar Foods, which entered the incubator in 2018, is one example of a company whose commercial market extends beyond space.
Support before and during incubation
ESA BIC Finland has also introduced pre-incubation training to help teams develop ideas before applying to the main programme. Its first training group brought together 11 teams in August.
Together, the portfolio and new training activities show how the incubator supports a pipeline from early concepts towards commercial companies.
